The children play at not falling.
They pretend to be grown-ups, then babies. The playground is full of surprises: here, a crocodile;
there, a treasure chest. My favorite blanket becomes a cape that becomes a flag which then becomes a red carpet spreading out towards my future. I don’t know where this carpet will take me but someone laid it out for me, so I keep walking.
A book about the power of child’s play, that magical realm which contains everything: the future and the past, fantasies and fears.
