“I saw a snail biking down a trail, I saw a bovum incubating an ovum…” The hero of this tale has a lively imagination and offers up a catalogue of excuses to his father in explanation for his lateness.
After My Favorite Shenanigans, Agnès de Lestrade returns with a mischievous new picture book, as slyly illustrated as ever by João Vaz de Carvalho, to delight children everywhere.

Agnès de Lestrade lives in the middle of a cornfield by the Garonne River. Over the course of her life, she has created songs to make people cry, board games to make people laugh, and two lovely children to try them out on. In 2003, L’École des loisirs published her first book. Since then, she has penned over 150 works: picture books, novels, and articles. Her books have won many prizes (Incorruptibles, Chronos, Tatou…) and are translated in 20 languages. Luckily, she still has time for dreaming… and bragging!

João Vaz de Carvalho was born in 1958 in Portugal and still lives there today. He works frequently with the press and publishers in Portugal and abraod. His characters, at once amusing and astonishing, have won many prizes, including the first Prix Ilustrarte (Portugal, 2005).
Deeply and lastingly influenced by his own childhood, he decided to bring his memories (back) to life for a living, tending to them with pencil and brush but no nostalgia. www.jvazcarvalho.com/
