BEYOND FRAME[S] - The observatory of picture books and graphic literature
Who is it? What is it?
Created by a group of critics and illustrators, the magazine goes beyond conventional delineations between picture books and comics, children’s books or books for adults, criticism and creation, with the aim of offering different points of view on creation in its diversity.
With numerous iconographic examples, the articles alternate between analysis of works and theoretical reflection.
A distinct role is given to the illustrators, young or recognized. Thanks to them we have original and remarkable covers for each issue. Competitions are regularly held and the winning illustrator sees the publication of his first unpublished picture book.
A special place is awarded to Yann Fastier (author and illustrator) and Jean-Marie Antenen (editor), and international people are always invited to participate in the magazine. Thus you will find a panorama of trends for different geographic areas in the world.
The magazine has 2 issues per year and is currently published in French. If you wish to subscribe, please go here to get more details.
