A playful, highly graphic documentary that introduces children to the world of insects.
The author proposes a game of riddles that combines graphics and sound, and introduces children to a dozen common insects. Each riddle, on a double-page spread, presents a strange creature (the little beast in the bazaar) made up of the same elements as the insect to be guessed. The associated short text provides sound clues, including the name of the insect “en bazar”: the syllables are out of order. So, we can guess phonetically that behind the BELILULLE hides a LIBELULLE.
The following double-page spread gives the answer, along with some of the species’ particularities.
The stamps used to create the illustrations allow the reader to play with arrangements and superimpositions.

The book ends with a more educational section on the general characteristics of insects and a message inviting children to be curious and respectful of this little world.
