Young people’s rebellion against an unjust war and the courage to get involved.
Inspired by a true story.

1965, the Vietnam War divides public opinion in the United States. The Backer family is firmly opposed to the intervention of American troops, but their youngest daughter, Carol, fears that declaring herself against the war will make her unpopular at school. At the beginning of the year, a new student, Judy, arrives. Her brother has volunteered to go to Vietnam, so supporting the war is almost a natural choice for her. The pro and anti-war activism of their classmates will force the two girls to face the need to make a more informed decision about which side to take, facing the inevitable consequences.

At a time when young people feel they can make a difference and the issue of war and pacifism has returned to the forefront, Noi contro recounts from an intimate perspective the ultimate meaning of activism and what has always driven young people throughout history to commit themselves to the causes they believe in.
