The elegant Aldo, a pianist by profession, became, following an unfortunate accident, “as flat as a slice of ham.” Starting from this extravagant premise, Fred L graphically explores all the constraints and advantages associated with this physical peculiarity and forces his character to rebuild his life and personality. All the stages of this transformation—moving man, zookeeper, courier—follow one another until the apotheosis of private detective, before a final, open and very funny questioning. Playing with conventions, with a focus on narrative and graphic clarity, close to a certain classicism, somewhere between a comic short story and a comic book, the author constructs a timeless universe with total freedom and a delightfully delirious imagination. A very enjoyable book for readers of all ages, even those who are not particularly skilled.
