A teddy bear that sheds its fur, a scary doll, a goldfish that barely lasts seven days: these are all examples of gifts that are flawed, broken, or inappropriate, and deserve a little complaint. After all, nobody’s perfect, not even Santa Claus! In this unique collection, Élisabeth Brami and Estelle Billon-Spagnol have imagined twenty letters of complaint from children aged 4 to 12. It’s an opportunity to have fun with these failed gifts, but also to reflect: divorced parents, money problems… Christmas isn’t necessarily a gift for everyone! The words are penned by the talented Élisabeth Brami, who knows better than anyone how to convey children’s feelings and questions. The illustrations, cutouts, felt-tip pens, and brushes are the work of Estelle Billon-Spagnol, who poured her heart into each letter, writing them all by hand and creating a unique universe and atmosphere for each one.
