Caroline and Nicolas set out to watch hares in the mountain pastures. But every time they think they’ve found one, a funny surprise awaits them! Aimed at children ages 4–5 and up, this children’s story reminds us that sometimes, we just have to let things come to us…

Over the past fifteen years or so, the author, Véronique Cauchy, has published some sixty titles for young readers (nonfiction and fiction picture books, collections, and novels), many of which have been translated into a total of 18 languages. Her lively style, not without humor, excels in this type of story that gives center stage to dialogue.

Born in Belgium but now based in Asturias, Emilia Conesa draws her inspiration from the mountains that surround her. Oil pastels, walnut stain, ink, linocut, collages—she uses whatever works to create a visual world in which engraving and monotype play a central role. She has already illustrated several picture books, and her style is reminiscent of the work of Chiarra Carrer or certain Flemish artists such as Klaas Verplancke and Ingrid Godon.
