An inspiring and feminist retelling of the myth of Ariadne, where heroes can be heroines!

What is the beast that lets out terrifying cries inside the labyrinth that Minos, her father, ordered to be built? Could this creature be linked to the god Poseidon, to whom Minos makes numerous offerings? And why is her mother so sad? Ariadne constantly asks these questions, even though they remain unanswered. Determined to learn the truth, the young girl refuses to conform to what is expected of her—to remain silent, learn to weave, and get married—and dreams of escaping her father’s authoritarian power. When Theseus, the prince of Athens, is taken prisoner by her father, Ariadne sees him as her chance to take control of her destiny and proposes an alliance.

Unfortunately, the young girl will learn that heroes are not always what they seem…
