One fine morning, a cage leaves its attic in search of a friend. Although it gets turned down more than once, finally a tiny, delicate little bird agrees to step inside the cage’s cloistered world. But soon, and despite the cage’s care, the saddened bird dreams of feeling the wind in its feathers once more, of taking flight toward an endless horizon—in short, of being a bird again.

For no cage, however gilded, can replace the call of the wind and freedom. Frédérique Elbaz delivers a touching allegory about the human need for freedom.
