For several years now, Catherine’s students have made a loaf of bread every Friday. Which becomes an excuse to share it with other classes in school. One day, Catherine reads the picture book Bonhomme [Homeless] by Sarah Van Linthout and Claude K. Dubois. The book comes to lend an unsuspected power to intentions and actions, a spur to social action. These eight-year-olds throw themselves into making bread for all the homeless people in Québec City. From that day on, making bread is an act freighted with meaning that makes us feel alive, like a part of something.
